Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Scope of the Policy

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of digital courses, subscriptions, and related services offered through starryel. The services include access to professional training materials on live television production, studio equipment integration, camera techniques, acoustic optimisation, lighting setups, and production processes for news, interviews, and live shows. It covers consumers located in the United Kingdom and explains how payments are handled, when contracts are formed, and the conditions under which refunds may be granted. The policy is designed to comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling. Value Added Tax at the prevailing UK rate is included in the displayed price where applicable. No hidden charges apply, but any currency conversion fees charged by your bank or card issuer remain your responsibility. Prices may change from time to time, but the price at the time of purchase is the price you pay. Promotional discounts are applied automatically at checkout and cannot be combined with other offers unless explicitly stated.

Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security

We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers. Payment is authorised at the time of order. All transactions are processed through secure third-party payment gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards. starryel does not store your full card details. If a payment fails, you will be notified immediately and given the opportunity to retry with an alternative method.

Order Confirmation and Contract Formation

After you submit an order, you will receive an email confirming receipt. A binding contract is formed only when we send a separate confirmation email stating that your order has been accepted and access credentials have been issued. Until that point, either party may cancel without penalty.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods

Under UK law you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of contract formation during which you may cancel for any reason. However, because our offerings consist of digital content, the right to cancel is lost once you begin downloading or streaming the material or once we have started providing the service with your express consent before the cooling-off period ends.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items

Refunds are available only where you have not accessed the digital content and the 14-day period has not expired. Access to live sessions, downloadable resources, or any interactive materials renders the purchase non-refundable. Promotional or gift purchases are also excluded from refund eligibility once redeemed.

Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email [email protected] within the applicable period. Include your order number, full name, and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You must confirm that you have not downloaded or streamed any content. We will acknowledge receipt within two working days.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification

We will verify that no content has been accessed. If eligible, we approve the refund and notify you by email. If ineligible, we explain the reason and provide details of any remaining rights you may have. Decisions are made within five working days of receiving a complete request.

Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing by your bank or card issuer may take up to ten working days after we initiate the refund. You will receive an email confirmation once the refund has been processed.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel future renewals at any time through your account settings, but no partial refunds are given for the current billing period once access has begun. Promotional trial periods convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled during the trial.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud

In the event of a failed payment or duplicate charge, contact [email protected] immediately with your order details. We investigate all chargebacks and suspected fraud. Where fraud is confirmed, we may suspend access and report the matter to the appropriate authorities while cooperating with banks and payment providers.

Mandatory Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK law, including the right to receive services of satisfactory quality and the right to remedies where digital content is faulty. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract.
