Who operates the site and acceptance of the terms

starryel operates this website as a commercial platform providing professional training and resources on live television production. By accessing or using any part of the site you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not accept them you must stop using the site immediately. These terms form a binding contract under the laws of England and Wales.

Continued use after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We recommend reviewing this page regularly to stay informed of your rights and obligations.

Eligibility and permitted use

The site is intended for adults aged eighteen or over who are resident in the United Kingdom or have a legitimate professional interest in television production. Users must ensure they have the legal capacity to enter into contracts. Access is granted for personal professional development and internal business training only. Any commercial redistribution or resale of materials is prohibited without prior written consent.

Permitted activities include viewing course modules, participating in live demonstrations of studio equipment integration, and downloading resources for non-commercial educational purposes. All other uses require explicit approval from starryel.

Prohibited conduct

Users must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or related systems. Activities such as scraping content, introducing malware, or interfering with service availability are strictly forbidden. Harassment of other users, posting defamatory material, or misrepresenting affiliation with starryel is not allowed.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of access and potential legal action. We reserve the right to report illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.

Accounts, submissions, or user content

Where accounts are created they must be maintained with accurate information. Users are responsible for safeguarding login credentials. Any content submitted such as feedback on camera techniques or lighting setups remains the property of the submitter but grants starryel a perpetual licence to use it for service improvement.

We may remove submissions that breach these terms without notice. No compensation is offered for removed material.

Ownership of site content, trademarks, and permitted limited use

All text, images, videos, and course materials are owned by starryel or its licensors. Trademarks associated with the site may not be used without permission. Limited personal copying for study purposes is allowed provided the source is acknowledged and no modifications are made.

Any other reproduction requires written authorisation. Infringement may lead to claims for damages.

Third-party services and links

The site may reference third-party tools for acoustic optimisation or production software. Such references do not constitute endorsement. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of external providers. Users should review third-party terms before engaging with them.

Links to external sites are provided for convenience only and we accept no liability for any issues arising from their use.

Availability, changes, suspension, and termination

We aim to maintain continuous access but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance or unforeseen technical issues may cause temporary unavailability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate any part of the site at our discretion.

Upon termination all licences granted to users cease immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

Disclaimers subject to mandatory consumer law

While we strive for accuracy in describing dynamic camera techniques and reliable production processes, the site is provided on an as-is basis. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Descriptions of equipment integration are for educational guidance and should not replace professional advice or on-site risk assessments.

Limitation of liability

Subject to the above, our total liability for any claim arising from use of the site shall not exceed the amount paid by the user in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses including loss of business or data.

This limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable legislation.

Indemnity

Users agree to indemnify starryel against any claims, losses, or expenses arising from their breach of these terms or misuse of the platform. This includes costs of defending legal proceedings.

Governing law, courts, and consumer dispute rights

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers resident in the United Kingdom may also bring proceedings in their local courts where mandatory rights apply.

Alternative dispute resolution services may be available through bodies approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. Contact details for complaints can be found on our Contacts page.

Severability, waiver, changes, contact route, and last-updated date

If any provision is found unenforceable the remainder continues in full force. Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver. We may update these terms by posting a new version on the site. The current version date appears at the top of this page.
